Revised Fall Project

I have always been fascinated with people and the role of the self in the creation of art. I absolutely love learning about people’s lives and how they bleed into their work. I was very interested in the life of Paul Celan and the effect of his past on shaping his poetic styles. Beyond the mild tweaking I have done to this paper since its final submission, for this project, I felt the need to change my writing style completely. I looked at Paul Celan’s life through the lens of Leonard Olschner to adequately inform the way in which Paul Celan’s humanistic tendencies influence and appear in his writing.

You gotta  love living’, baby, ’cause dyin’ is a pain in the ass.
